How Bilkul works

We're required by law to explain how our system makes decisions. We'd do it anyway — opacity here is bad business.

Who gets assigned to your booking

When you book or your subscription generates a visit, our system picks an expert by:

  1. Same community first. A worker who lives or works in your gated complex beats anyone outside.
  2. KYC + training verified. Anyone with unverified Aadhaar/UAN is automatically excluded. (Karnataka mandate.)
  3. Least busy. Among eligible workers, we pick the one with the fewest in-flight jobs. No favouritism, no surge bidding.
  4. No overlap. We never assign someone who already has a job in your time slot.
  5. Same worker, every visit. Subscriptions lock in one worker permanently — they get reassigned only if they leave or you ask.

How your bill is calculated

  • Subscriptions: monthly price ÷ visits per month gives the per-visit cost. Effective hourly rate is shown on every plan.
  • One-off bookings: rate × hours × cleaners + (optional) instant priority + GST 18% + (optional) supplies fee.
  • GST at 18% on notified household services (CGST Section 9(5)) is paid by us, the platform — not by you or the worker.
  • Promo codes are validated server-side before applying. We never apply hidden discounts that distort comparison.

How ratings work

After every booking you can rate the visit 1–5 stars. Ratings affect a worker's visibility on our matching system, but never drive instant deactivation — decisions about ending an engagement go through a human review with prior notice and an appeal path.

If we end a worker engagement

We do not silently deactivate workers via algorithm. Any termination requires:

  • Written notice with documented reasons.
  • An internal review where the worker can respond.
  • An appeal path to a senior reviewer.
  • Final escalation to the statutory appellate authority under the Karnataka Platform-Based Gig Workers Act 2025.

Workers' rights & support

  • Vetted & insured. Every worker completes KYC (Aadhaar, UAN, PAN, bank) and we provision accident + life cover via the Karnataka Welfare Board.
  • Minimum wage floor. If a worker's effective hourly rate dips below 145/hr the system flags it for top-up.
  • Algorithmic transparency.Workers see in their own dashboard exactly which jobs they were considered for and why they were/weren't allocated.
